About Sumter EMC

Sumter EMC is a service cooperative and is owned by those it serves. The EMC runs on the principles that membership is open and voluntary, that members control the corporation, and that electric service is provided at cost to the members.

Sumter Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is a not-for-profit electric utility that provides energy to more than 19,500 customers in all or parts of Marion, Chattahoochee, Schley, Stewart, Webster, Sumter, Quitman, Randolph, Terrell, Lee and Dougherty counties. The Corporation is headquartered in Americus with a branch office in Leesburg.

Each office has a convenient drop box for payments made after hours. Simply deposit your check or money order with the return payment portion of your bill. Payments received after 5 pm are processed the next business day.

Payment may also be made on or before the collection date listed on your bill at any of the payment collection centers throughout our service area.
