Walter Harrison Scholarship
The Walter Harrison Scholarship program was created in 1987 in memory of Walter Harrison, a Georgia and national rural electric co-op pioneer. The statewide scholarship is funded through donations contributed by EMCs throughout Georgia and pays $1,000 to each winner......
Washington Youth Tour
Katherine Hunter represented Sumter EMC at the 2011 Washington Youth Tour (WYT) in June. The WYT is an all-expense-paid weeklong trip to our nation's capital. Electric cooperatives across the country sponsor the tour to help students develop their leadership skills and learn the history of the rural electrification program.....
