The Sumter EMC Scholarship program is a testament to its commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders and supporting the pursuit of higher education within this community. Each year, Sumter EMC awards scholarships to deserving students who embody core principles of academic achievement, leadership, and service.    

After carefully reviewing many outstanding applications, Sumter EMC is thrilled to recognize two exceptional students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to community service and leadership. Please join us in congratulating these deserving scholarship recipients:   

1. Elizabeth Fill—Elizabeth is a Lee County High School senior active in the marching band, jazz band, math team, and Beta Club. She also serves as drum major and is Vice President of the National Honor Society. Elizabeth plans to attend the University of Georgia in the Fall and study to be a pharmacist.    

2. Landon Spivey—Landon is a Lee County High School senior active in Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), National Honor Society, and National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). He is an honor roll and dual enrollment student. Landon plans to attend Georgia Southwestern State University in the Fall to pursue a nursing degree.    

These scholarship recipients have excelled academically and demonstrated a deep dedication to positively impacting their communities. Through their involvement in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and leadership roles, they have shown a commitment to bettering the world around them, embodying the spirit of service at the heart of Sumter EMC’s mission.    

As recipients of the 2024 Sumter EMC Scholarship, these students will receive financial assistance to offset their college education costs. Sumter EMC is confident that they will continue to excel in their academic pursuits and make meaningful contributions to society as they embark on this next chapter.
